Hello, I have quite some questions after all.. When flaccid I'm able to retract my foreskin fully without any problems at all, and I don't feel any pain either. Once retracted, it requires a little effort initially to get it back, where I have to "push" a little bit to get it back on the glans itself, where it then rolls out by itself, but other than that it is no big deal at all. So there's not really any problem when flaccid. When erect, I'm able to retract the foreskin somewhat, depending on whether the penis points upwards or forwards. If pointing upwards it can retract quite a bit, maybe like 50%, and when I then point it forwards, it can't retract as much, because it would hurt.
I really don't know what size of ring I should begin with initially, so I've decided to say fuck it and begin with size 4 of 20, because size 1-3 were just loose when placed, and didn't fill out. Size 4 isn't really loose. I have then decided to step up one size after 4 days of three sessions each day, each consisting of one hour. Also, when do I need to apply the cream? Only at the end of the day, or after each session? Also, do I need to stop cleaning my glans with soap when showering? Because that's what I've done for years, but I've read somewhere that that is not a good idea. Basically I read so many different things regarding all this on the internet, that it leaves me with more questions than answers. I hope you guys can give some advice. Btw. I'm 20 years old, and had to deal with this back when I was like 10-12 years old, where I was provided with some prescription steroids cream I think, but that wasn't succesful. It was called "Diproderm"
Cheers.
You are currently using the correct size of ring if it feels tight. When the ring becomes loose (no feeling of a stretch), it’s time to move up a size but do this during a bath or shower as immersion in warm water helps the skins elastic fibres and collagen to stretch a little more than usual. The cream is meant to be applied in the morning (I don’t believe that it matters what time of day however) but I would suggest to apply it just before fitting a ring if your dexterity is good as the cream can help the ring to expand to its circular form. Soap can sometimes cause irritation and some internet posts state to avoid it, however this only relates to those experiencing balanitis and other issues such as dry skin on the glans and foreskin. Most of us use soap, just keep with your usual type and avoid stronger perfumed ones. Cease using if irritation is occurring of course
Thanks for your answer. I've never experienced anything out of the ordinary when using soap, so should I assume that I can continue doing so? I'm definitely progressing - I began at size 4 and now using size 6, so I believe I am on track.
You’re welcome. Yes continue as you are doing, if your usual soap is fine it shouldn’t be a problem.
Hope it is still going well!
Hello,
Thanks, I’m now using size 12. However, I’m in doubt whether it’s fitted correctly or not. When fitted, and looking inside the ring, I’m able to see the glans, but also some of the foreskin being stretched. Is something wrong?
Hi phimouser it’s good to see that you are making progress.
It’s ok to be able to see some of the foreskin being stretched if I have understood the question correctly.
If the phimosis ring stays in place and does not fall out, it indicates that the phimotic band is sat correctly in the channel of the ring. So provided that the ring is not falling out, it will be stretching the foreskin.
Okay. I've now gone back to size 9, since size 8 is loose when fitted, which size 9 is not. I'm kinda starting to loose faith, as I'm not seeing any progress. I'm just gonna wear size 9 until that one becomes loose as well and then move on to the next one.
Are you still applying the cream every day?
Yes, morning and evening. Should I stop masturbating? I've begun to do some manual stretching each day by pulling back and forth the foreskin, both in flaccid and erect condition.
If the foreskin is becoming irritated or dry, stop masturbating or at least do so with lubricant and less frequently. Have you made any further progress? Have you tried moving upwards following a bath or shower?
I think I'll stop masturbating for a while and see if I make progress, because I've noticed that the skin does become sort of dry. When I pull back the foreskin, it does look like that there's tear/scars in the skin, but it does not hurt at all, so that really confuses me. So I should try moving a size up right after a shower, because the skin becomes more "elastic"?
@phimouser yes after a shower or during, providing that the foreskin has been exposed to water for at least 5 minutes
